Its 2025 and I cannot believe it! It’s unfortunately been a while since I’ve made a post on my blog. This began as a passion project during the pandemic and I had tons of fun creating content that was hopefully valuable to those who came across my blog. In 2025 my goal is to rediscover and revamp my blog and revisit the reasons why I started it in the first place.
The start of a new year is the best time to explore and develop good habits that you can carry into the year and hopefully integrate to your life moving forward. If there is one thing I absolutely love to do it’s journal, write and document things happening in my life. It’s so nice to be able to look back at any type of journal medium and reflect on the past. It’s also a great way to check in regularly and exercise gratitude for your current life.
2024 was the year I found my teenage and childhood journals. I rediscovered tons about myself including my love for writing, reading and journaling. I want to focus on doing more of that in 2025 and hope that I can use my blog in order to do so.
This year, I would like to focus on by physical and digital journaling mediums. I have a “One Line a Day” book that I have technically completed (I started in 2021). However there are tons of vacant spots for which I went weeks and at times months without documenting. My goal this year is to really try and be consistent with completing that journal and filling out most of those empty spaces.
I also purchased a brand new agenda which I look forward to using a lot during this year mostly for my budgeting goals, to-do lists, tracking birthdays and various appointments.
I also have a long form journal that I plan to utilize where I can recount my day and write about the good AND bad things that happen. I think this is a great way to get your feelings and thoughts out without having to always burden those around you. What I found form reading my childhood journals is that I often used my journal as a venting exercise and rarely wrote about the good things happening in my life. I want to focus on being more balanced (and honest) in my journaling this year.
An exciting thing that happened last year is that we bought a house! It is closing in a couple of months so I anticipate this will allow me to me more inspired and create more content. Additionally, I will be focusing a lot on being more budget focussed this year as well since with a new home comes additional expenses related to making that new space your own. I am also trying to come up with most of my blog images on my own instead of using stock photos.
Instead of committing to a schedule here on my blog I figure I will try dedicating most of my weekend to my journaling (including blogging) in order to make this a no-pressure hobby that I can get excited about. Here’s to 2025!
