As a minimal millennial girlie, I must say that I have discovered some great products this past year! In this post I’ll be sharing both new and old makeup and beauty favourites of the year that I have thoroughly enjoyed.

1. Fenty Ease Drop Stick Blur + Smooth Tint Stick Foundation

I love a good stick foundation that feels lightweight, is portable and is long-wearing. This is the experience I’ve had this with particular product. I find that it works well with the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray especially when it comes to extending the longevity of the product. I am very focused on maintaining a small makeup bag. Although I am not a big makeup junkie, I love when I find a product I can truly rely on and repurchase without issue.

2. Sephora Microsmooth Multi-Tasking Baked Face Powder Foundation

This is an old favourite of mine that I have been using more now that I have been going into the office regularly. I love the finish and texture of this product and I have repurchased this several times. This product always makes it onto my Sephora savings event list. The skin-like finish is great for the minimal girlies who also want to look as natural as possible.

3. Trader Joes Body Butter

After all of the hype of this product this year on tiktok, I decided to try it out myself during one of my cross border shopping trips. I do not regret it at all! The consistency and scent is absolute perfection. My favourite version is the Brazil Nut which is a dupe for the Sol de Janiero Bum Bum cream.

4. Tower 28 Swipe All-Over Hydrating Serum Concealer

Another new product for me, also big on tiktok. This serum concealer is truly unique. As someone who does not like the feel of actual makeup but loves to have the benefit of some coverage especially when it comes to concealer, this is an exactly what I need! It is super light weight and the coverage is nice and opaque.

5. Chloe Nomade Eau de parfum

This is my favourite new scent of the year. This year I’ve really gotten into fragrances and this is one that I randomly smelled in store and one that my sister already had so I was able to properly test it out before making the purchase. It’s a scent I have been enjoying so far.

6. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Volume I

This is an old product in my collection that I rediscovered. This was triggered by a Sephora sale: I was contemplating buying one of the Hourglass holiday palettes but remembered I had this one that I have not not nearly used up! I went back to this product. I especially love using the incandescent light on my under eyes.

7. Sephora Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick

This is a recent favourite that I am loving so far! I was on the hunt for the perfect  red lipstick/stain for the holidays. Red is a tricky colour and I find that a stain works better than a regular lipstick to prevent transfer and movement especially for a holiday dinner party. I decided to purchase a Sephora set that included the colour 01 “Always Red” which is a universally flattering red lip. I used this for a holiday dinner party and got tons of compliments of both the colour and how long wearing it was even after dinner! I totally recommend this specific colour but also the set if you are looking for lip colours that do not move and are long wearing!

8. Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow AHA Treatment

This is a newer product for me and one that I have been loving. I discovered this last year when I purchased a little travel set. I love an overnight mask and waking up the next day with hydrated and rejuvenated skin. This mask is also great with lightening dark spots which I struggle with especially when recovering from a pimple.

9. L’Occitane Hand Cream

This is another old but long time favourite. I have not been able to find anything comparable to this product. The consistency is perfect especially for those that struggle with dry hands in the winter but want a product that doesn’t linger and create a residue of oil on all surfaces.

10. Fenty Treatz Hydrating + Strengthening Lip Oil

An unintentional find – my sister actually introduced me to this product. This year, lip oils have quickly replaced lip balms. I love layering this product over the Sephora Cream Lip Stains in order to create a completely different look and finish. On its own, this oil is super nourishing to the lips and is completely NOT sticky which I also really love.

And that concludes my list of 10 minimal makeup and beauty favourite of 2023 that I am loving! Hope you get some ideas for things to add to your bathroom or makeup bag.
