No need to break the bank to create a beautiful holiday gift. If you take the time and invest in beautiful wrapping you can easily and creatively make your gift look pretty and expensive.
If you have a specific budget for your gift I always find that a gift box or gift basket that you put together yourself is always a great idea. These types of gifts often take more time and are very personal to the recipient.
As an example, it was my sister’s birthday this month and because she lives in another city, I decided to get her a packaged gift that was mail-friendly. I, of course, know all the things my sister loves so I put together a little gift box with a few cute things that I knew she would love: macarons, nail polishes, face masks and a book. I put everything together in a shoebox I already had which I decorated nicely.
It is important to note how you are sending your gift, since I was sending this package via mail carrier I made sure it was packaged securely and that and “breakables” were packaged safely but beautifully.
I went to a craft store nearby and purchased some filling, and pretty tissue paper, also check out your local Dollarama for this. In the open box I laid out the tissue paper so that there was overhang on the left and right side only, just enough so you could fold it over each other and the two sides touch:
Then I threw in the filler and placed the items overtop. I made sure that there was just enough space that the top of the box could shut without the items moving around too much in there:
I also tried to make this look a little more fancy by creating a happy birthday header and sticking it to the inside of the lid of the box. Once you have all your items secure the fold the overhang of the tissue paper over each other and secure with a sticker!
