Dear clothes I purchased this year,
I’m sorry for not using you and leaving you in my closet with your tags still on, only to never see the light of day. I hope 2021 is better to us and that you are able to enjoy the outdoors and see my office or even a courtroom, perhaps even a Plaintiff, or lawyer or two.
Until that time please accept this as my deepest and most sincere apology for my neglect and inability to utilize you to your full potential.
Until 2021,
S
If you love shopping for clothes as much as I do, you may have fallen into the trap of purchasing lots of clothes during this ongoing pandemic (stores closing, tempting sales, and thinking that this pandemic would soon be over and I’d be called back into the office).
In terms of what has gotten use, of course the loungewear I have purchased have been well used this year however I also purchased quite a bit of workwear. I’ve used some of the tops and jackets (oh hey zoom court) but aside from that there are still things in my closet with the tags on.
In this post and in an effort to keep track of the workwear I purchased this year, I will be sharing everything I purchased in 2020. This post will be focused only on workwear only because this is all I wore for a while so this is really what I’m used to buying.
For context, this is how I spent my black friday/cyber monday week instead of mindlessly buying. I am trying not be sucked in by the sales especially given that there is not really anything that I really NEED right now. This has been a productive way to prevent my usual overspending during this time of year while also auditing and decluttering my current wardrobe.
In combination this does not seem to be a lot of clothing but bear in mind that aside from my shoes each item in these photos are pieces I purchased this year. The great thing is there is a common colour theme throughout and each of the pieces can be worn together. This just shows that I usually make sure I purchase things that can be paired with other things I have previously purchased or already own.
Let me know what your favourite outfit and what combinations you would put together in the comments!
I love #2! I totally agree with buying pieces that are versatile and can be worn in atleast 2-3 ways. I am obsessed with workwear too but just before the pandemic hit, I actually ended up purchasing quite a few party pieces! So sad I have not worn any of them yet!
