Is it no secret that I LOVE a good deal. Sometimes that means searching the internet for used pieces that I’ve been looking for but haven’t actually wanted to pay full price.
In my experience, the best place to look is facebook marketplace and poshmark for these types of items. When you see something you like for a great price you need to act fast (especially on marketplace) otherwise someone will beat you to it.
Here are a list of my absolute favourite used clothing pieces I found and I have used several times. If I purchase something and end up not liking it, I will usually resell it online (one time I was able to flip a J. crew dress I bought for over twice what I purchased it for which was really nice).
1. Beige Club Monaco trench coat
I found this item online on facebook marketplace and thankfully the girl selling the jacket worked down the street from my office. I remember meeting her during the workday to pick it up. I love this coat, it was in perfect condition and was a nice beige tone. The cut was also classic so I knew I would get lots of use from this piece. I believe I bought this for about $80 and the original price was probably around $300.
2. Grey wool J. crew jacket
I found this piece on poshmark. I was really excited when my offer was accepted (less than the listed price). I purchased this jacket for about $120 and the original listed price was $280. Its really well made and is a nice thick wool material so its great to use as an outerwear piece when its more chilly.
3. Levis Wedgie fit jeans
Another facebook marketplace purchase. I remember meeting this girl at the mall near my office. The jeans were in perfect condition and I believe I paid $60 as opposed to the original $100. Because the jeans were virtually brand new I was pretty happy with them. This jeans became my favourite jeans and the only jeans I have worn all summer (haven’t had to wear jeans a lot of course).
4. Mauve Wilfred Tie Front Pant
Again a marketplace find (seeing a trend here?). These pants were $60 and fit perfectly like a glove, these pants are around $138 new online from Aritzia. I purchased these online partly because at the time the colour was sold out and truthfully I didn’t want to buy these pants full price when I’m primarily working from home and probably won’t get to use them anytime soon. Although I haven’t had a chance to wear these out yet it is definitely one of my favourite purchases for the price!
