We all have tough times at work here are some quick and easy ways to treat yourself when you need a mid week pick-me-up, want to celebrate a successful file settlement or a just celebrate a Friday of a hard week.
1. Take a nice walk and get yourself a nice drink
I always feel so much better when I take a nice walk (follow me on instagram to see what goes on during my WFH lunch breaks). One way I like to treat myself when I’m having a hard day at work is to get a Starbucks drink during my lunch break. I am a big proponent of making your own lattes at home but sometimes its so nice to go and get your favourite drink. When making your drinks at home on a daily basis not only do you save money but you make purchased drinks more special and more of a treat!
2. Buy yourself flowers or a plant
I used to do this very often when I was going into the office because there were a number of variety stores and little shops downtown that sold flowers and little plants. What’s great about getting a plant after a memorable or important event is that you can always look at that plant and remember when you purchased it.
I also love buying flowers to brighten up my home. Of course, these don’t last as long as a plant but there are ways to prolong the life of your flowers (let me know if you want to see a blog post about this). If you love pretty things you will certainly enjoy looking at some beautiful flowers or a cute plant during your work day!
3. Get your nails done
I have done this a few times and the rest of my day always feels a lot better afterwards. It’s important to look up reviews of salons near you prior to going and calling in to make an appointment even if its the day of that way you aren’t wasting time waiting around which often is the case when you just walk in. This, just like my coffees/teas is something I usually do for myself but sometimes especially when I want to try out new colours, I enjoy getting my nails done.
Next time you’re having a rough day at work or want to celebrate a victory at work try doing of all of these things to celebrate and treat yourself! You deserve it!
